Wizards of the Coast has provided D&D fans with a first-look at the standard and alternate art cover treatments of Dragon Delves, featuring some significant deviations from previous 5E cover layouts and designs. Today, Wizards of the Coast revealed the full covers to Dragon Delves, the upcoming dragon-themed adventure anthology. As mentioned in our initial coverage, the standard cover is by Greg Staples and the alternate art cover is by Justine Jones. Wizards provided the full cover treatments of both books, which can be seen below.

As you can see, the cover layouts have some pretty distinctive differences. The standard cover uses a distinctive font/title treatment and what appears to be a kind of Romic font, which was also used on AD&D books in Second Edition. The fonts aren’t exactly the same, but based on my amateur eye, they’re very close….and that’s the point. Also, D&D has adopted a black to red fade for their spine treatment, which is reflected in the alternate art cover with a black to purple to pink to yellow fade. The rear covers show off some more art from the upcoming book, with silver, blue, gold dragons all appearing on the rear cover.
