ArtCraft Entertainment originally planned to release the latest update for Crowfall, 7.200.0, on Monday October 4th, but due to delays related to ‘technical hurdles’ and bugs, the update was rolled out on October 7th. The delay also pushed back their latest campaign, which went live October 8th.
Crowfall officially launched on July 6th after a long testing period, where the community had their fair say in the overall development over the course of the games’ early access. Despite reports of layoffs, which are often common post release, the team at ArtCraft has been hard at work making the game better, as can be seen with the patch notes for their latest 7.200.0 update.
With the new update, players will have the ability to make new character choices as part of the new player experience. You can choose between creating a custom character, or choosing a pre-built Artchetype that starts at level 25. The available archetypes are:
- Stoneborn Knight
- Nethari Confessor
- Fae Assassin
- Half-Giant Champion
- Human Cleric
- Elken Templar
Players will still be able to start a character at level 1 with a custom build, though item and XP rewards have been adjusted and the questing system has been streamlined so that new players can get into end game content more quickly.
There were plenty of other updates in 7.200.0, including changes to crafting, performance, the campaign, the UI, and class balance. For a complete list of what has changed in 7.200.0 check out the official post.
Back in July we reported that the game has seen some low player numbers shortly after launch that were refuted by the ArtCraft team on twitter. While it is hard to determine the exact number of players currently, self-described inaccurate population estimator MMO-Population, puts their daily population somewhere just over 5900 daily players, and declining slowly over the last month. Despite the purported “low” population which has not been corroborated by ArtCraft themselves, the fervent community surrounding the game is still active and excited to take part in the latest campaign.
