If you haven’t heard of Embers Adrift yet, then it seems like today may be your lucky day. The team at Stormhaven Studios has released a one-minute video that explains everything you need to know about the indie title that is set to release later this year.

It feels almost like yesterday that we reported that Stormhaven Studios would be rebranding their game Saga of Lucimia to a new title that is rooted more deeply within their game world. In reality, the name change to Embers Adrift happened a year ago, and since that time Stormhaven Studios has made some great strides with game updates and expanded Beta testing times. With the game slated to release this year, barring any delays, it’s no wonder why the development team decided to provide an elevator pitch to new players, in the form of a short video.

The video simplistically explains how Embers Adrift differs from other modern MMORPGs, by bringing the philosophies of classic MMORPG’s and tabletop games into the design decisions they’ve incorporated within their own development. The current Beta of the game has transitioned from being available only on Wednesday evenings, to include weekends as well. Earlier this month Stormhaven posted a lengthy video that provided specifics over their accomplishments.

Some of the progress they’ve made, which we’ve covered in the past, had to do with reworking characters stats and abilities, new zones, expanding the crafting system and some aesthetic updates to beautify the world. Embers Adrift is set to release later this year, though at this time we cannot confirm of an actual release window. If you’re interested in hopping in and testing the group-oriented PvE game during their limited weekly test windows, you can do so by pre-ordering the game, which will run you $50.00 USD.
