Big bartering and trade route updates as well as a long-awaited revamp of Altar of Blood arrive with this week’s Black Desert Online PC update, both of which were announced at the Calpheon Ball.
In the Altar of Blood, players party up in either premade or matchmade groups of three to defend a big pillar from waves of enemies, with bosses appearing every three waves. There are currently 21 waves, meaning seven bosses, and each enterable level will depend on the player with the lowest AP and waves cleared.
There are also weekly rewards that are both guaranteed and based on chance: the Resplendent Origin of Dark Hunger, which is guaranteed once per week, and the Resplendent Essence of Devouring, four of which are combined for the Origin item, both among other rewards.
There are huge updates to the bartering and trade route systems. Some Level 6 and 7 trade routes have been opened, and with it, trade goods can no longer be moved via Transport. The new routes remove the fog from Crow’s Next, with Crow Coin exchanges moved to this island. Plus, low-level trade goods have had their weight reduced to make it easier for captains to get things sailing, and the Barter button interactability distance has been increased by 20%, on top of other changes to pursue.
Some big UI updates arrive in this update as well, including an improved World Map search and a new Boss Info UI that unifies previously-scattered information about Bosses throughout the game. The full list of patch changes is available as always on the site, including even more additions such as new Shai Donkey Quests and new Koi to capture, and the patch is live now.
The weekly updates continue for Black Desert Online, which celebrates 10 years in the western market this year.
