When it comes to Star Citizen, there are clearly a number of dedicated fans. This week will be the next (virtual) CitizenCon and Cloud Imperium is treating the community to a little fun too.

In terms of crowdfunding, Star Citizen recently crossed the 500 million dollar mark and Alpha 3.18 is on the way. Cloud Imperium Games is having some fun with the new CitizenCon digital giveaway pack that will be handed out to all backers. Some of the goodies won’t be available until the next Alpha update, 3.18, is live, but one of the things you’ll be able to enjoy is the Francis the Party Animal plushie.

You can love your digital plushie space whale soon, but there some other goods in the pack they’re giving, including a grenade launcher and a new jumpsuit. The free pack that all backers will be receiving in waves, but only the plushie will be available first for you to enjoy. Francis the space whale is wearing a little party hat.

CitizenCon will happen October 8th, beginning at 3 p.m. UTC or 11 a.m. Eastern. As usual, the event will be streamed live and there will be a number of tours, development updates, reveals, and more.

While yes, Star Citizen has been a powerhouse in crowdfunding and in development for some time, the game still does have a solid and dedicated community. Clearly with a sense of humor that can appreciate their characters being able to carry around a little digital space whale plushie in a party hat.

Some of the talks and presentations coming up at the event include a tour through the upcoming Pyro System with development updates, a pitch process for a new mission archetype that focuses on storytelling and detection, an introduction to Master Modes, which will impact the flight experience in the persistent universe and ship roles in the future.

You can find out more about the schedule and stream, which will be open to all, and the backer gift packs, over at Star Citizen.
