The elemental system in Genshin Impact is one of the games primary features. For a long time players were aware that Dendro was a new element within the world of Teyvat, but until now, no playable Dendro characters were introduced. Recently, miHoYo teased their new region, Sumeru, which will introduce players properly to the Dendro Element!

Sumeru is a new region to the west of Liyue, and its lush forests and dense foliage is the home to one of the most awaited features that Genshin Impact players have been waiting for, a new element. The Dendro element will encapsulate plant-based skills, which will in turn have new interaction with the current elements. Current players will likely be familiar with the way elements have complementary effects to one another. Dendro will have its own set of reactions aimed ad helping players.

Two new reactions will be introduced with Dendro. Bloom and Catalyze. Bloom will occur when players mix a Dendro ability with a Hydro ability. When mixing the two elements, players will spawn a recovery effect. Catalyze is an entirely new reaction that consists of a Dendro and an Electric ability (with the possibility that Catalyze may have additional interactions with other elements too). While they didn’t go into specifics on how Catalyze is meant to work, they teased that this will be a very unique reaction.

Obviously, Genshin Impact 3.0 will be one of the largest updates to the game so far, with a new region, plenty of new characters, and a brand new element complete with some fresh reactions to change the way people play the game. It’s great to see that miHoYo is still blazing forward with an aggressive update schedule to keep players invested in this popular cross-platform action RPG. You can jump in on mobile, PC or on PlayStation, and they’ve even added the game to GeForce Now! Currently, there is no release date schedule for Genshin Impact 3.0, but with tons of new information being divulged each week, an announcement isn’t too far away. In the meantime, learn more about the next update headed our way on July 13th
