Each week, we scour the internet for all things indie MMO-related, so you don’t have to. I’d like to thank Steven for stepping in and covering the big news pieces last week. This week is all about holiday events, from the age-old battle between Santa Claus and Old Father Winter to Oryxmas 2022 in Realm of the Mad God. We also saw a lot of developer end-of-year blog posts, and I’d expect to see more of that next week, too. There’s plenty of other stuff going on as well, so let’s quit wasting time and get started with this week’s Indie MMO Spotlight.

The Broken Ranks holiday event is underway. Will you be taking up arms for Santa Claus or Old Father Winter?
Chimeraland
The Snoweye Festival started in Chimeraland on Thursday. Running through January 3rd, players are tasked with slaying snow monsters in any Totem Challenge to collect Sneweye bells. There are also daily drops containing Snoweye Bells and Snow Monster Map Pieces. Collect five map pieces to fuse the Snow Monster Map, then take on the Snow Monster boss to earn some special gear.

Corepunk
It has been a while since we heard from the Corepunk team. Their silence has ended, but it’s bad news for anyone hoping for a Closed Beta Test this year. The update posted on Discord does say they will be showing some gameplay footage before the end of the year.
The Cycle: Frontier
The Holiday Monster Bash is live and runs through January 5th. The Monster Bash is part of the Frosty Frontier Fest, which also includes a dev end of year livestream, free codes, and sales on both Steam and EGS.
Ember Sword
Last week, we were introduced to the bandit Martish Gulkadore. This week, we get a peek at the metalsmith known only as Tactical Bob.

Ethyrial: Echoes of Yore
The December Devlog was posted on Thursday, giving some insight into summoning and the Elementalist, Shadowcaster, and Infuser vocations.
Fractured Online
On Friday, Dynamight Studios posted a notice that Fractured Online would be going back into closed development on January 31, 2023. The announcement points to troubles with the third-party backend platform, and the MMO will remain offline until a new platform is in place. This is a hiccup in development, but the majority of the team is still working on the game proper, with only a handful of team members already at work on the new platform. A new development roadmap is promised to be released in January.
Galaxies of Eden
A new devblog was posted this week that covers development progress and stability testing.
Genfanad
Genfanad’s latest update adds a new Christmas town, a new quest, and a new micro dungeon.
Gloria Victis
We are a week late reporting on Weekly Update 345, but seeing how it is a “significant update to the game” and “the first step towards completion of the final milestone before we will release Gloria Victis 1.0.” we felt the need to mention it this week.
Into the Echo
Akshay Kolte, Executive Producer for Into the Echo, posted an end-of-year update this week.
Mist Legacy
The Cryobaronis of Chillwind update is now live, bringing three new regions to the MMO. You can find the changelog here.
Open Perpetuum Project
In a short announcement on the OPP Discord, the devs stated they hope to have Gamma Phase 3 completed within the first couple of months of 2023. And to celebrate the holidays, there is a +5 EP boost through January 4th.

Scars of Honor
To celebrate the holidays, the SoH team has added a couple of new holiday-themed mounts to the store.
Super Spatial
Update 0.14.1 is now live, it brings X-Mas to Super Spatial, including a new winter-themed Party Island and a new Santa Claus costume and other winter-themed bundles available in the Party Shop.
Tatsumeeko
Tatsumeeko’s final dev blog of the year has been posted. Check it out for a look inside the Drunken Mermaid, as well as updates on fishing. We all love fishing.
