If you’ve been dumping enchantment materials into The Quinfall and watching them disappear into the void, relief is coming. Developer Vawraek Technology announced this week that a long-requested pity system is in its final stages of development and will go live within the next two to three days.

The announcement, posted to the game’s Discord server, frames the update as a direct response to player feedback. The studio says the goal is to make progression feel “more fair, more rewarding, and more transparent,” and that the team will be monitoring the system closely post-launch.

The Quinfall’s enchantment system works through a star-based upgrade path at the blacksmith’s bench, where early levels come with a 100% success rate but things get dicey from +4 onward. At that point, failed attempts can destroy your item outright, and the only insurance has been consumable Tera Protection. Unfortunately, players up to this point don’t really have a way to guarantee upgrades, and that has essentially pushed many players off from progression.

A pity system would concievably change that. While Vawraek hasn’t published the specific mechanics yet, the typical implementation in this genre guarantees a successful upgrade after a certain number of failed attempts, effectively capping the worst-case scenario and giving players a clearer picture of what they’re actually committing to before they start burning resources with no end in sight.

The Quinfall launched into Early Access in January 2025 and has had a mixed reception on Steam, but has continued pushing updates including a new 3v3 PvP arena. The pity system lands as another step toward smoothing out the rougher edges of its progression loop, but we won’t really know how much until it’s fully implemented.
