There won’t be any new content this week in RuneScape due to a game jam, but the team did lay out what week 3 of the new Fresh Start worlds will be like, and plan on something new for next week.
A while back, the RuneScape team announced that sometimes there would be time off for devs to spend it on passion projects. This week, there won’t be any changes for the game due to a game jam, but these game jams have sometimes resulted in important additions or improvements. One of the most recent examples is the visual upgrade for free to play areas that went live several weeks ago.
While the team is not making any content changes this week, they are already teasing a preview of some new content coming later this week and due for release next Monday. There are no details yet, but we’ll all know more soon.
When it comes to the Fresh Start worlds, there is a change to the XP boost. The XP boost in Fresh Start will actually be split into two types. Those skills under level 70 will level faster. While all skills get boosted XP rates, those under 70 will get a 75% bump, while those over 70 will get a 50% bonus. The week’s other boosts include a 50% accuracy boost, and Tier 2 Auras unlocked.
Next week’s Fresh Start XP changes haven’t been revealed in full yet, but the two-tier skills by level bonuses will continue. We can expect the first additional boost to skills over 70 as well as continued extra bonuses for those under 70. There will be other bonuses as well.
Today, October 10th, is World Mental Health Day and the team has created a special charitable bundle with special items, as well as the option to make a donation to the campaign for 50 RuneCoins in exchange for a new title, The Benevolent.
