Amazon Game Studios announced today that it was delayed their upcoming MMORPG, New World, by a month today. This isn’t the first time the MMO has been delayed, and now the anticipated MMO will launch on September 28th.

You’ll recall that last year New World was delayed until Spring 2021 in an effort to add more PvE and mid-to-endgame content. However, as the months went by we heard that New World would be delayed, again, this time releasing on August 31st.

Well, now as a result of feedback and data pulled from this past closed beta test, the Amazon team has decided to delay New World, again, this time bringing it out on September 28th.

“We want New World’s launch to be a smooth and fun experience for all players, and that means making some improvements based on what you encountered during Closed Beta,” the New World team stated in a note on Twitter. “So we’re going to take a few extra weeks to smash bugs, improve stability, and polish the game. New World’s new global launch date is September 28th, 2021.”

Amazon concedes that they know this isn’t the “first time” they’ve moved the launch date. However, the team states the overall goal is to ensure they deliver the highest quality game they can at launch. The beta was, by all accounts a smashing success, with over “a million adventurers” that racked up a total of “more than 16 million” hours played during the beta period.

New World hosted the Battle for New World event to close out the beta test, something our writer Mitch states went a long way to bringing him into the world of Aeternum.
