This week, I look at TTRPG crowdfunding campaigns that end between January 30 to February 8. This sampling of what’s available includes a megadungeon for mice, a highly detailed fictional Rome, old school zines for OSE and Shadowdark, a campaign for a £1 with an absurd number of unlocked stretch goals, and many more projects for your review.

Tomb of a Thousand Doors- A Mausritter Megadungeon.png

Tomb of a Thousand Doors: A Mausritter Megadungeon from ManaRampMatt

  • END DATE: Fri, February 2 2024 10:00 PM EST.
  • SYSTEM(S): Mausritter
  • PROJECT TYPE: Adventure
  • MOST POPULAR PLEDGE: $60 + S/H for the PDF and print versions of book as well as a GM screen
  • WHY SPOTLIGHT THIS CAMPAIGN? This project offers the four M’s of merrymaking: madness, mice, megadungeon, and Mausritter. Built on Into the Odd engine, Mausritter is a rules lite sword and whiskers TTRPG where you play a mouse on the hunt for treasure. One of the hallmarks of Mausritter is the card-based inventory system. You’re a mouse, you can only carry so much, what will you keep? The choices you make about what you want to inventory make this game interesting. Tomb of a Thousand Doors connects 30 unique dungeons into 1 labyrinth filled with treasures. Created by a mad mouse king, there are over 250 rooms, 100 hexes, and creatures and 8 bosses to contend with. Add to the fray, there are 4 rival adventuring parties set to swoop in to rob you of your spoils. Created through the efforts of the Mausritter Megadungeon Mayhem of May game jam, this project offers a lot of mousy mayhem at minimal risk to you. HârnWorld- Republic of Tharda.png

HârnWorld: Republic of Tharda from Columbia Games

  • END DATE: Mon, February 5 2024 1:28 AM EST.
  • SYSTEM(S): System neutral
  • PROJECT TYPE: Sourcebook
  • MOST POPULAR PLEDGE: $49 + S/H for the PDF and print versions of the book
  • ADDITIONAL REPORTING: Last year, Charles Dunwoody did an interview with Grant Dalgliesh about HârnWorld
  • WHY SPOTLIGHT THIS CAMPAIGN? Another HârnWorld setting, this time the Republic of Tharda. Tharda is a plutocratic republic featuring a senate. The heads of the richest clans run the nation; each family consumed with intrigue and infighting. HârnWorld books are detailed deep dives into the domains of their setting. The amount of information that they offer has to be read to be believed. Maps of the land to the city to the district to the buildings and their interiors, you’ll never be without direction. With system neutral NPCs, events, and story options, you’ll get a lot of content to enrich your TTRPG.

Fantasy RPG Zine Double Feature - Delver 13 and Runes 2.png

Fantasy RPG Zine Double Feature – Delver 13 and Runes 2 from The Tabletop Engineer

  • END DATE: Wed, January 31 2024 11:59 PM EST.
  • SYSTEM(S): Old-School Essentials and Shadowdark RPG
  • PROJECT TYPE: RPG zines
  • MOST POPULAR PLEDGE: $22 + S/H for the PDF and print versions of the zines
  • WHY SPOTLIGHT THIS CAMPAIGN? The Tabletop Engineer is back with two zines for two different systems. While both have an old school feel, Delver targets B/X fans including OSE and Basic Fantasy while the Runes zine is all about Shadowdark. Each zine offers GM tips, a full adventure complete with maps and NPCs, and random tables – many, many random tables. That said, this isn’t reprinted material from Delver to Runes or vice versa; each issue is unique. That’s important, you’re getting two fully written zines, not one zine printed with two rulesets. If you’re interested in the differences, check out the campaign page for links to samples of each series.

Era- Deadwest - A Wild West TTRPG of Gunslingers and Demons.png

Era: Deadwest – A Wild West TTRPG of Gunslingers and Demons from Shades of Vengeance

  • SYSTEM(S): Era d10
  • PROJECT TYPE: Core rulebook
  • MOST POPULAR PLEDGE: £10 for the PDF of the book
  • WHY SPOTLIGHT THIS CAMPAIGN? The Wild West, demons, and demon-slaying gunslingers using the Era d10 system. While Era: Deadwest undoubtedly shares some notes with Deadlands, this TTRPG is its own world. With options to improve your demon-slaying weapon, this game involves the damned and filling’em full of lead. If you’re a fan of the Weird West or Era d10 games, this is worth reading over.
