PlanetSide 2 has launched a series of improvements after marking 10 years, adding support for Nvidia DLSS and AMD FSR to boost framerates, opening better API access, and also better server performance.

When it comes to giving the community options to help their games look better while in the heat of combat, Nvidia Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) support has been added to a growing number of games to offer a way to make things a bit shinier without impacting performance.  AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution works to do something similar and improve the experience. Both of these technologies make things faster and increase framerates on systems with a card that supports their use.

Improving the PlanetSide 2 API is also in the recent update, which intended to clean things up and let more third-party developers have access. The team also added a number of otherwise previously missing collections and information, including experience events. This will let third parties interested in creating or updating their own relevant supports do so more easily.

These changes came among a suite of recent updates that also improved the PlanetSide 2 anti-cheat measures. Building upon the system that was originally added in January, the update has patched some of the holes and tuned it to make catching cheaters faster. This will work in tandem with player reports.

The update also included a rework of the reflexes and ACOG to have a more consistent radical size and even some customization for reflex and the ability to hide the reticle if you want the extra challenge. There’s a new gender change token in the Depot if you want that option for your character. To start, it will be available for 1 Cert through March to provide easy access before the price goes up to 1000. Re-opened with the update is the ability to deploy vehicles from the map remotely, as long as the base isn’t contested.

There’s much more in the update, including other reworks and changes, including balance tweaks. It’s a big update, and one of the more significant ones for PlanetSide 2 in a little while.
