The free all-ages MMORPG Wizard101 is running two free events for its players: one for dungeons, and one to promote visiting castles and houses around the game.
The current combat event is a Portal Peril series, where once a week every month, players can tackle a past dungeon, known in Wizard101 as a Housing Gauntlet, for free—and this time, it includes a higher-tier battle as well.
Now until May 4, players can take on the Great Clock Gauntlet, playable at three tiers at level 50, 100, and a new 150 tier, the latter of which features “variations on the traditional monsters.” Players will be scaled up to the highest level in the party; all players can try twice per day for classic rewards as well as Scroll of Fortune progress.
The other ongoing Wizard101 event right now until May 4 is the Spiral Scene event, where players can progress by rating castle tour houses, visiting top houses and completing daily assignments, plus other tasks. The free listed rewards for this are a Professor’s Hoard Pack, Mega Snacks, Jewels, and Reagents; plus, these tasks count towards the Scroll of Fortune.
Nearly eighteen years after its launch, Wizard101 is not only chugging along, but seemingly doing its best to thrive in the MMORPG market, with over a million downloads across all of its recent console releases.
